"Positive feedback on Ridgeway ward"

About: Arnold Lodge Regional Secure Unit

(as the patient),

Since the influx of new staff and ward policies have been introduced onto Ridgeway ward, the atmosphere and interpersonal difficulties experienced by some patients has improved greatly.

So it is with pleasure that I congratulate both doctors, and the m. d. t. Especially Steve.

Hi there

Thank you for taking the time to give such positive feedback about the work that the multi-disciplinary team are doing to try to improve patient experiences on Ridgeway Ward.

I have passed on your positive feedback to the members of staff concerned and they were all delighted to hear that their work is appreciated. They also wanted me to let you know that over the coming weeks and months they are planning the following changes in consultation with yourselves, as patients:

1. Telephone access will start earlier in the evening from 4.30 pm as opposed to 6.30 pm. Daily telephone times will initially extend from 15 minutes to 20 minutes with possible further increases in time allowed subject to three-monthly reviews.

2. When CCTV has been completely installed, the multi-disciplinary team will be looking at using a large area of the ward for patients on Risk Stage 5 to have a space where they can watch tv, read or play on the computer away from the main lounge area. The patient group will be involved in developing their own operational instructions as to how they access this area safely as well as respecting other patients' right to privacy.

Thank you again for taking the time to pass on your comments and the staff team will be really happy to hear any suggestions you have for future service developments.
