"Awful!"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

Referred to EPU, First 2 appts good. Phone call late Friday asking me to go back. Couldn't as childcare issues so appt made for 10.00am Sat. Arrived 9.45am. Empty ward. Seen by a nurse after 10 mins who asked me to wait. The nurse returned after about 10 mins and put me in a room to do my obs, no idea why, they had never been done before! Told doctors were doing rounds and would be with me soon. Left at 11 as I had children to care for. Told main reception as no ome on ward. Got told you should have gone to A6! Like I am supposed to know that!!!

Got a phone call at 13.10 asking where I was. The appt was at 10. No apology. Then asked if I was going for a blood test tomorrow. Was not even aware I was having one so no, I wont be there.

Absolute awful lack of care and communication. Total indifference by staff.

I'm sorry to hear or your experiences, it is not what patients normally experience. We would like to look into what happened in your case, and get someone to contact you to explain, but can only do so if you are willing to e-mail us direct with your details.

Please e-mail our Patient Advice & Liaison Service on PHT.PALS@porthosp.nhs.uk or telephone 0800 917 6039.

Kind regards.
