I recently was referred by my GP through the choose & book system, under the NHS for a consultation at the Chesterfield.
I found the staff to be friendly & welcoming & very professional.
The consultant was very nice and agreed that I needed to have surgery which was then booked in for the following month.
Two weeks before my operation I visited the hospital for a pre-assessment health MOT which involved a series of tests and comprehensive consultation with both a health coach and a nurse both whom seemed to have a vast knowledge of healthcare & gave me a few tips on how I could improve my personal health & cholesterol levels.
On the day of surgery I arrived at the hospital at 7am & was met & taken to my room which can only be described like a five star hotel with an en-suite bathroom.
A nurse looked after me, who was lovely, so kind & caring.
A hostess came and took my order for the food which I would like to eat after my surgery & then I got changed, ready for my operation.
Another nurse collected me & we walked down together to the theatre, ready for my procedure.
The next few hours are a little less memorable, as I had a general anaesthetic.
Later that day I was allowed to have a cup of tea in my room & then my lunch arrived which I had ordered earlier that morning.
It was delicious.
By 5pm, I was allowed to go home with lots of instructions of what to do and what not to do and a follow up appointment for two weeks later.
I wanted to say thank you to everyone who took care of me, the whole team were so lovely and I would recommend the Chesterfield to everyone.
