My teenage son was booked for a removal of a intravenous line and on arrival at the Angio Suite room on the 2nd Floor Tower it was found that the Consultant radiologist was not even on duty. The doctor who was standing for him was very pleasant but was clueless about what to do.To make matters even worse the radiologists hadn't even bothered to come to the Adolescent ward to obtain consent. It was also the same attitude from the anaesthetist who couldn't be bothered to come to the ward to see my son prior to the procedure. However what the staff clearly did not forget to do was to shovel food down their mouths in front of my son who had had nothing to eat or drink. If I am not mistaken a member of staff who wears a dark blue tunic/dress is part of senior nursing staff so why were they eating food in front of my son.I hope when the staff read this they will be suitably ashamed and they should consider whether they are suited to working in healthcare. If it was not for my sons treatment already in progress I would have taken him elsewhere where maybe staff would understand about courtesy respect and privacy.
"another cancelled procedure for my son"
