I have just moved to Stoke Mandeville for regular ongoing outpatient treatment and was surprised to discover that I had to pay for my parking (it was free at Ashford St Peters).
This is compounded by the fact that I had to use a pay and display car park when my appointment could last anywhere between 20 mins and 2 hrs+ depending on how busy the department is and how well my treatment proceeds (I have no way of knowing on arrival).
I understand that there is an option to pay for 2 hours parking and request a notice at Haemotology reception to display in my car waving additional charges, but in many cases I need less than 1 hour and would therefore be paying additional charges unnecessarily.
In any case I am strongly of the opinion that hospitals should not charge patients attending for treatment.
Please can you review your parking policy with respect to Outpatients?
