"Emergency admission"

About: Royal Derby Hospital

My husband was taken to A&E as a result of a fall at home on a Saturday afternoon. The Paramedics who arrived were friendly and super efficient. They took immense care of him and soon had him trussed up like a mummy! Yes we did have to wait in A&E but the staff were dealing with a lot of people all with different needs and tests to be done. Everyone remained cheerful and calm and I was given cups of tea. My husband was X-rayed and we then moved on to a ward. From then on all proceeded smoothly from operation two days later to his recovery in Ward 205. I was anxious that he should receive his Parkinsons Medication on time and was impressed to see the nursing staff set their alarm during the day when he needed his pill at an "odd time". As others have said everyone from the Cleaners to the Caterers and the Nursing Staff were wonderful. Thank you. We are so grateful for the NHS.
