"A Very Satisfying Visit to Accident & Emergency..."

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske)

Last Saturday afternoon, 7th November, I developed excruciating knee pain for no accountable reason. I was unable to walk and kept passing out/fainting. About 1700hrs my wife took me to the Accident & Emergency Dept at Treliske . After waiting for approx 30 minutes I was seen by a member of staff who was very caring, kind, attentive and concerned about my problem. An x-ray was taken and the radiographers were very caring too. Fortunately the x-ray did not reveal a fracture nor ligament damage. What a mystery!

The member of staff decided to put me in a knee brace, provide crutches and painkillers with an instruction to visit my GP within a week. Before leaving the hospital I fainted again and was kept in for another hour or so for observation.

The treatment I received was first class and nothing was too much trouble. I was extremely impressed by their professionalism and knowledge. The member of staff was courteous, polite and very patient with me when I needed clarification of something I did not understand. They are a great credit to themselves and very personable indeed.

Thank you for having such nice people working at Treliske Hospital.
