"Patient unable to make a Podiatry appointment."

About: Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust / Podiatry

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I received a phone call from a patient. The patient tried ringing on 3 or 4 separate occasions during the week commencing 2 November 2015 to make a Podiatry appointment. He was not happy that there was nobody available to take his call for such a long period of time.

Dear Miss Anderson

We are very sorry to learn of the difficulties a patient experienced when trying to make their podiatry appointment. We can confirm that the reception area is staffed Monday to Friday 9am-12noon and an answerphone facility is available out of these hours. The service is currently recruiting to provide additional staff cover in the reception area to ensure service demand can be met.

We would very much like to discuss your feedback further and would be grateful if you could contact the Patient Experience Team on 01773 525119.

Marlene Morris, Team Leader, South Normanton
