"A&E and acute medical admission for my elderly..."

About: West Middlesex University Hospital

My mother has just come out of the W Middlesex Hospital after nearly 3 weeks, following collapsing outside her home.

During her stay she was sometimes confused and uncooperative, so not the easiest patient to care for but all the staff she came across took the time to speak calmly to her, explain what was going on and help her make the best decisions on her care. She is now almost fully recovered and gives the W Mid 5 stars and so do I.

The A&E and observation bay did all you would hope - they cared for her acute problem with blood tests and scans but also initiated an Occupational therapy assessment that was done the next morning, quickly demonstrating that there was more going on and her balance was off. The medical and nursing staff treated her with humanity and compassion, she was on her own but felt safe and in very good hands. She was transferred to Marble Hill 1 ward where she was gradually restored to health and nothing was too much trouble for the staff both in caring for her and keeping me informed by 'phone. The hospital is spotless, the staff uniforms smart and the food 'sumptuous'. Thank you so much, keep up your incredible work!
