"Being able to go to the day centre is a nice change"

About: Rosebank Resource Centre

(as a service user),

I started coming recently to the day centre. I think my granddaughter sorted it for me. I think it’s great, they are all that helpful. I’ve met a lot of friends.

They do a good job here, the staff are really nice. Drew the bus driver is lovely too, he always chats to us.

I like the companionship; I normally sit all day and night by myself at home. I do the crosswords during the day and people wave in through the window – I really appreciate that. The nights are more difficult, it’s a bit dreary. I miss having someone sitting beside me to talk to.

I don’t get many visitors at home. My bed and commode are in the living room so I don’t really like asking people to come and visit.

Being able to go to the day centre is a nice change

Hello Gibs11

Thank you so much for giving the Day Service such positive feedback. I will pass this onto staff that work there.

In terms of your having more to do, we work very closely with the voluntary sector to ensure that we can support people like yourself. If you would like to explore more options for company or connections within your community you could ask staff at the Day Service to make arrangements for someone to come and speak with you about other community options?
