"lack of care"

Got told this hospital got slated, did not get told when but that was enough for me.Not enough qualified staff. Was disappointed with the overall running of the ward, totally disgusted the way the patients where treated. To me they have spent enough on a nice building, but not enough on the staff they have got in there, surley if you choose to do a job like that you have got to be a 100 per cent committed.Something needs to be done now about turning this hospital around, they need to get proper qualified staff in now.

Thank you for your comments and we are sorry that your experience fell short of our expectations.

Mersey Care expects staff to contribute to improving the quality of services and to take ownership for the delivery of high quality care, to show care, empathy, respect and to challenge poor practice and inappropriate behaviour.

The trust strives to continually improve the care provided and our staff are an essential component in delivering this, it is disappointing to hear that not all staff met the required standards.

In relation to the recent CQC report Mersey care has developed action plans as a result of the feedback received which will be monitored for progress through the trust governance arrangements. The trust must complete these action plans and respond to the CQC.

It is a national requirement for all inpatient ward to publish information about staffing levels on each shift, the safer staffing reports are available on our web site. Mersey Care has procedures in place to ensure that the wards are safely staffed and undertakes a nursing establishment review twice a year.

If you would like to discuss your experience further or the content of the reports referred to please contact, Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS), 0151 471 2377 or 0800 328 2941 pals@merseycare.nhs.uk
