My son was involved in a serious RTA. He was assessed in a special area in A&E. Firstly he received an energency op to remove his ruptured spleen within an hour of admittance. He was taken to the ICU. The next day he had his pelvis, leg and arm repaired. After 3 days on the ICU he was moved to ward 25 where the service remains great. I can only raise one concern, that due to his confusion after banging his head they did put him in a room by himself which led to him having a fall whilst unmonitored. A bad decision but no harm done thankfully and he was moved back to a continuously monitored environment . Despite this hiccup all I can say is thank you to everyone, at every level at Southnead that made any decision or helped my son in any way. I know you will all think it's just your job, but it has all been done so well.
