I have been a patient under the care of the doctor.
I have recently been in for day surgery.
The pre admission clinic service was superb, friendly and informative, contact details given and pre-admission information given verbally and in writing.
Prior to admission the waiting list co-ordinator was excellent, ensuring the date was ok and liaising as needed with me - thank you for the care and time you took.
The admission process on the surgical admission ward was good, again friendly staff and professional care. The only comment I would make is that patients weren't given an update if the initial operation time changed. Pre op visit by staff and the anaesthetist were all professional, informative, kind and caring, all staff ensured I understood what was happening, and that I felt ok about it.
Anaesthetic care was good, reassuring and friendly, at no time did I feel vulnerable or worried, all staff went out of their way to ensure I understood what was happening. I was off to sleep in a gentle manner. Thank you.
Recovery in the recovery unit was good, everything again explained to me, all staff ensuring I felt okay.
Recovery on the Channel day Unit - again good, the nurse ensured I felt okay, they ensured I had something to eat, drink and a lift home.
The head of the unit who completed my discharge - was kind and ensured I understood everything before I left, they also ensured I had contact numbers prior to me leaving.
This was a very good experience all round, cleanliness was good, staff caring and compassionate. please use my comments as you like to promote your service.
"Superb all round service"
