What I liked
The nurses were very pleasant and kind and they do a wonderful job
What could be improved
The doctors behave inappropriately and have no considering towards the feelings of the patients.
Anything else?
I waited for 4 hours to see a doctor which I was happy to do as I was unaware that in order to get repeat medication you had to call the out f hours doctor first. However after a long wait I was called in to see the doctor, I suffer from a sleep disorder called Idiopathic Hypersomnia and take medication daily. Unfortunately one of the effects of this disorder is the inability to remember things very well, so I had forgotten to get my repeat script from the doctor.
The doctor proceeded to bombard me with questions about my meds, he told me that he had reason to believe I was substance misusing ( I only went for 5 tablets, a days worth), he then went on to lecture me about my meds being a controlled drug and can be sold on the street. Firstly they are not on the controlled drugs list, I know this having recently been on holiday and having to bring them back into country. I mentioned I had a daughter also which can also inhibit the ability to remember anything except things for her. He asked me if social services were involved with myself and my daughter because of my disorder and then proclaimed he believed they should be.
I have used this facility before and it was marvellous but the doctor who dealt with me was rude and patronising. I may not be a qualified doctor but I certainly knew more about my disorder than him, he had never heard of it and couldnt even spell it!!!! I have never been made to feel so inept and worthless as what I did that day, and this man is supposed to be in a position of care. Absolutely disgusting, I would never ever attend this facility again, and would not recommend anyone to take their partners or children there just incase they are treat the same as me.
"The nurses were very pleasant ..."
