My 87 year old mother was taken by ambulance to WHH after a fall, after 4 hours in A&E she was told nothing wrong go home, even though she could not walk. we were left with no transport and she was unable to get into my car, staff were less than helpful.
The next day she fell again and was taken back to A&E, after xrays it was decided she had a fracture. They were still going to send her home despite the fact she could not walk at all, they decided to keep her in. After nearly 2 weeks they decided she could go home, regardless of fact she still could not walk at all and had no help. Was then decided to go into Step Down care where we were assured they could cope and give her physio and get her back on her feet. Was there one day when she fell again, back to WHH xrays showed no further damage back to Step Down care, who then called to tell me that my Mother was very wobbly on her feet and couldn't walk and they were not sure they could do much..............After I explained that is why WHH sent her there they said they would "do their best" but they were not sure if they could do anything to help............
To say I am disgusted is an understatement, as far as I am concerned its just a question of get her off my books and onto someone else, doesn't matter who.
