"Positive experience"

About: Royal Lancaster Infirmary

My stay in ward 16 was on the whole a positive experience, my last stay in hospital was 25 years ago so was not really sure what to expect. I was treated very well by all members of staff who were always very busy but very professional. I was kept informed about my treatment and procedures and felt able to ask questions. The room was clean, warm and light, food was well presented and fresh and I had regular hot drinks.

Only worry, was that I was not offered pain relief before what I found to be a very painful procedure. I was given some after I had asked for it to be stopped.

The general surroundings of the hospital were good, did find the state of the lift up to the ward off putting as a first impression. They looked dirty and uncared for.

Thank you for writing a comment on our services at Royal Lancaster Infirmary. We have passed on your comments to our staff in Gynaecology. But we are sorry that your experience at our hospital wasn’t what you quite would expect and are keen to investigate and respond directly to you. Please would you contact our Patient Relations team on 01539 716621 to allow us to carry out that work. Many thanks again.
