My wife had a C-Section at the Maturnity unit and the care we received was excellent. Consultants, Nurses, Mid Wives, Cleaners and Catering staff we on the whole excellent, I couldn't fault their attention to her and my sons care. Communication was good even when short staffed or when busy. The food was better than I had experienced recently in a Welsh hospital. In Wales I had excellent wifi but the food was aweful and seeing as it's the food that's going to help me recover I'd far rather live without Facebook for a couple of days.
The one and only let down was the hoovering smokers outside the door who became abusive when asked to move away. Staff said that there was no enforcement of the no smoking policy. One smoker claimed to be to ill to make it over to the provided smoking shelter, if she was so ill how had she made it from her bed ? To expect pregnant women to make their way past the fog of lingering carcinogens or bring their new born out through it is unreasonable, especially when some have given up smoking.
"Excellent Care"
