I have a hearing loss and Trafford general is only hospital I have used who seem to understand the difficulties I face . From the pre op check to the Orthopaedic education has been brilliant for me. I can sit in the waiting area after telling the receptionist that I am deaf and not sit on the edge of my seat looking out for my name to be shouted . I can do what others do ,read a paper or just watch the TV (which also has subtitles switched on !) no other hospitals reception remember to tell me when my name is called and I have been left in limbo a number of times!
They even arranged a 0ne to one for my knee preplacement education yesterday as they knew I would not follow a group meeting. So well done and a big thanks for me to all the staff I have met up to now and if my operation goes as smoothly as this I will be more than happy.
Not forgetting the Rheumatology department who also have been brilliant.
