About: Wansbeck Hospital

After being told I had fully torn my ACL I went in for surgery to remove it , little did I know 3 weeks later at Physio I got told it was not removed as was only a partial tear I should have been told this! After 3 more month of pain and a bent knee I had a manipulation still no luck In fixing my knee, consultants words were If it was a bone I could fix u but it's a ligament so I can't hmmm after months at Physio I got a second opinion at the freeman hospital on my first visit the consultant told me I needed s full reconstruction I'm now 11 days post op and doing great wansbeck has messed my life up for over a year.

Dear A

I’m glad to hear that you are making a good recovery after your reconstruction.

Different clinicians will have differing opinions on required treatment, but it’s difficult to comment further without knowing the details of your case. I am concerned however to hear that you did not feel fully informed about the procedure you had while you were in our care. So we can look into this further for you please call the Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0800 032 0202 who can work with us to find out more information about your treatment.

Best wishes

Claire Riley

Director of communications and corporate affairs
