I recently went to the MAU in Northern Devon District Hospital and then onto the detox ward. In total I was in there for 9 days and then I was discharged. There was a huge room next to the ward and all night staff were working non-stop packing boxes. This happened every night and it meant I couldn’t sleep.
Without complaining, I found some of the staff very rude as well. When I got out of there I couldn't wait for a drink.
I have started drinking again. I called the rise helpline but I have ran out of help. I went to see the GP but my own GP was away. I asked for pills to stop drinking and stop the shaking and I was told to go and site down and wait for a doctor to write the prescription but the surgery called the police.
I was sent a letter and told to go to group meetings. I have said from the start that I want one to one support but they don’t listen.
I don’t have anyone to contact and I don’t have any help.
