My father who is 90 years of age was referred to the
JR at the beginning of this year as he woke up one morning with what turned out to be a detatched retina.
He subsequently saw the consultant on a number of occasions and has had several proceedures overseen by them during the past 10 months.
He is recovering well as initially he was harldy able to see (he has Glaucoma in his other eye) and the family could see him deteriorating in front of us as he is noramlly very active and astutue.
However, under the consultant he is progressing extremely well and is getting back to his normal self.
The purpose of the comment was to thank the consultant, not only for repairing his eye but for the kind, considerate and respectful way they have treated my mother and father throughout their visits. They have struggled at times and the consultant has always been very kind and helpful to them and taken time out ot speak to them (even once noticing them in the queue at the league of friends on his break and talking to them).
The consultant deserves to be told that lt was so appreciated by them (and our family) and is a credit to the JR. Thank You
