Has Kingston Hospital not adopted the Hello my name is ....campaign to show compassion in care. I attended A&E as a support to my elderly neighbour and a total of five members of staff spoke to us and made no attempt to introduce themselves (The sixth one did!) Not one member of staff asked who I was .... All were pleasent enough but it takes seconds to introduce yourself and makes such a difference. We waited a very long time in a majors bay before anyone spoke to us, I fully understand the fact that the unit is perpetually busy but a quick 'Hello, will be in to see you soon' would have been reassuring for the patient. These may seem minor issues but when you are in a strange and often scary environment it makes such a difference to the way you perceive the care offered to you.
