What could be improved

The reponse time from having an X ray to the finding being received at the GP was very poor.(7 Days)

During this waiting period this elderly lady I took for an X ray was in pain!! It took a week from having the x ray taken to the GP visiting the patient.

The Dr came out within Hrs of him receiving the results. This lady is now on Oramorph (strong painkiller) having been told she has Osteoporosis. I am sure everyone can come up with reasons why these results take so long - but if you are in PAIN as she was you need treating quicker than a week.

Thank you for your comment on our website. I am sorry to hear there has been a delay in this patients treatment particularly as the patient has been in considerable pain.

We normally state a one week turnaround time for all routine reports to go back to the referrer in this case I think this was the GP - this allows time for the patient to make a follow up appointment with the GP if necessary. I am happy to investigate this further for you to give you a more accurate response but will need further details.
