"A unit I had never heard of?"

About: Royal Bolton Hospital / General medicine

(as the patient),

I was referred to ac unit by my doctor, on my arrival i received a warm welcome by staff on this unit...followed by the most efficient service one could have wished for!

I had pneumonia and didnt want to be admitted overnight

I received all the treatment one would expect of being on a ward, all my obbs were taken xrays carried out and an ecg and antibiotics perscribed and supplied and was free to go home all within two hours and on a busy friday night!

fantastic is only one word to describe this great unit

Dear Mr Well, The AC unit, is the Ambulatory Care Unit -- which is for those people who need assessing and/or some treatment that can be carried out without them having to be admitted to a bed. It sounds as if this was just right for you! Thank you for sharing.
