"Acupuncture for My sciatica treatment"

About: Nuffield Health, Derby Hospital

I came to the

Physio department to resive acupuncture.first impress wasn't great as I felt a lot of the staff walking past where looking at me as if I didn't belong there perhaps because I'm younger than the other patience or because I was standing as opposed to sitting but this was due to me having sciatica. Then the specialist I saw was late to see me after I arrived 10 mins early as instructed to me. I don't believe you should have to wait for Helth care if your paying for it and have an opponentment. When I eventually got in to the room the whole thing just seemed like a long sales pitch. When the proceeder begun I found it extreamly painfull. even putting needles in to my right leg witch isn't effected. I was guaranteed my pain would be reduced after the first session and it wasn't in the slightest in fact I can now feel where they hit me with the needless in both my legs. Also I was told not to take my pain relief medication the night and day befor my procedure witch caused me great pain and discomfort and loss of sleep. I was also told not to attend my physio therapy appointments and to just see them and not to continue taking my pain relief medication as the acupuncture will be enough. I don't find this to be true because I was still in great pain after I left. I know that it wasn't going to miraculously cure my sciatica but I expected at least a 20% reduction of pain and not for it to be worse than it was and also feelin disscomfort in my right leg where the first needle was inserted that's not even injured and for all this it cost me £65. Very disappointed
