"My Father was admitted to Ward ..."

About: Blyth Community Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

My Father was admitted to Ward 3 after being diagnosed with a terminal illness. The care he was given was outstanding. Unfortunately, he would not eat, but I was impressed at how persistant the Staff were at trying to coax him into eating something. My Dad was also incontinent, but they never complained about the number of times they had to change his bedding.

What could be improved

It was all excellent.

Anything else?

My Mum & I were treated with such kindness and sympathy when we went into see him after he died.

I would like to thank all of the Staff on Ward 3 for the tremendous care and respect with which they treated my Dad.

Thank you for your recent comments posted on the NHS choices website regarding the care afforded to your late father recently at Blyth Community Hospital. It was very kind of you to write and compliment the medical team on their care and I have copied your letter to the medical and nursing staff involved.

Please accept our sincere condolences at this sad time. Thank you for taking the time to write.
