"My experience at Cedar Ward HRI"

About: Hull Royal Infirmary

I attended Cedar Ward HRI for a procedure on the afternoon of 26th of October 2015. I was really nervous but the nurse looking after me instantly put me at ease. The nurse explained everything clearly and couldn't have been more lovely. The consultant also stopped by and introduced themselves, asked if I had any questions and reassured me about what would be happening, as did an anaesthetist. I was particularly worried about the general anaesthesia as I had never had one before but when I was taken down to theatre I soon realised there was no need to be. The anaesthetists, one who I had met earlier on the ward, were extremely friendly and gentle with me and explained everything as it was happening. There was also a kind person from recovery holding my hand and making sure I was ok. Before I knew it I was waking up in the recovery room with them where I was told everything went really well and they phoned my partner who was waiting upstairs to put his mind at rest too. I was warned I might have a sore throat from the GA and some pain but other then feeling a little spaced out I actually felt fine and after some water was taken back to the ward. I was given some toast and another drink and after a chat with the nurse I was allowed to go home. I don't usually write reviews but as my experience was so positive I felt that everyone involved deserved recognition for the amazing work they do. Everyone was so kind and caring and I couldn't have asked for better service. Thank you!!
