"Blood test on a terrified 13 year old!"

About: Royal Hampshire County Hospital

Major breakthrough today, Lucas had a blood test this morning. After nearly passing out he is now confident he has overcome his fear of needles. All feeling on top of the world!!!! Thank you to all the nurses at Winchester Hospital and the people who had waited patiently in line for their own blood test! Lucas was seen first and no one minded!! The poor child looked like he was going on the electric chair but it is all in the past now!!!! He did extremely well and we are overjoyed!

I had warned the nurses we were coming and that my 13 year old would need to be held down.

We were already approached in the car park by worried nurses who could see the state our kid was in, pale, about to pass out and sobbing.

They moved really fast, explained what was going to happen and eventually the magic happened!

Amazing nurses in the blood test department!

Thank you a million!

I am sorry I didn't take the name for all the nurses who helped as I wish I could have thanked you all individually!!!

Thank you for your feedback regarding your son’s blood test.

I am always pleased to read heartfelt comments, like yours, on the care, kindness and professionalism our nurses provide when treating patients.

I have shared theses kind words with the team, who I am sure, will be delighted and greatly encouraged by them.
