"patient care was excellent, nurses ..."

About: The James Cook University Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

patient care was excellent, nurses generally friendly,

What could be improved

the food was a bit naff at times, otherwise I had no complaints. Sometimes had to take what was left.

Anything else?

I'm not sure I was warned properly about the halucinatory effect of the drugs I was given. I spent about four days in a very odd place, This afer cardiac bypass surgery, valve replacement, and aorta reroot,

Thank you for your feedback following your cardiac bypass surgery, this has been forwarded to the Senior Management Team for Cardiothoracic Services. Your experiences will be discussed with the doctors and nursing staff at the Surgical Directorate meeting, and any lessons to be learnt will be implemented.

I am sorry to learn that you were not warned properly about the side effects of the medication given.

Your comments regarding the food will also be forwarded to the appropriate staff.

If you could contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0800 0282451 and provide further details, then we may be able to learn more from this unfortunate incident.
