"Why was I treated so Badly at Central Middlesex Hospital?"

About: Central Middlesex Hospital

(as the patient),

I went to the central Middlesex for my Third Back Operation, I had already been to this hospital once before for my second hip operation.

I had my back operation and from there my care went downhill.

My daughter and her friend came to visit me and it took them 30 minutes just to locate me, not one member of staff was willing to help them locate me.

When they finally found me my daughter gave me a small box of chocolates.

When one nurse saw me eating these she said 'You have already had 2 back and hip operations, you will be again next month with your knees if you carry on'.

I hadnt eaten as I had just come round from surgery and I felt that I wasnt allowed to eat.

I felt I was completely ignored and wasnt given my pain killers on time, when I buzzed for them they said in a minute, half hour later I was still waiting for them to come back.

1 hour after I had asked for them I finally got them. They where 1hr 30mins over due.

When I buzzed regarding going to the toilet the nurse said she would get me a bed pan, I told her I needed a commode as I couldnt lift myself to use the bedpan, she brought me the commode and emptied everyones bedpans in it, so I was left with everyones urine next to me.

I was also told I would have to get a bus and train home as I was well enough and didnt need an ambulance.

I was shouted at when they decided to talk to me, They spoke in other languages around me which made me feel that they was talking about me.

Only 2 members of staff the whole time I was there where nice to me, one was the nurse who prepped me for surgery and the other was the male nurse who took me down to get my ambulance home.

The discharge nurse was extremely rude and abrupt with me and at one point my painkillers where two hours late.

When they came round and gave me a bowl to clean myself I asked for a glass of water to brush my teeth, the nurse ignored me and I had to use my washing water for my teeth.

I went in hospital to get better and I came out feeling worse due to the way I was treated unfairly. Even the tea lady was nasty to me.
