"Supporting my child and I"

About: Abbey and Lady Bay Children's Centre

(as a parent/guardian),

During the school summer holiday this year (2015), having been with my son almost 24/7, I felt like I was verging on breaking down. His ASD and ADD diagnoses and the lack of structure of a school day meant that his challenging behaviours were at full throttle! Family life was extremely difficult.

Fortunately I had a home visit from Jacqui (Sure Start Children’s Centre) and Jill (CAMHS) who immediately put the wheels in motion for us to access services to help us. I was so impressed at their efficiency by the end of the summer holidays, I’d had contact from Flexible Short Breaks, Social Services, I’d been invited on to the 123 Behaviour course run by Jill and Jacqui themselves and put in touch with sleep specialists. My son’s school were made aware and they have also been of invaluable help to us.

I feel incredibly grateful for that day Jacqui and Jill came round and am astounded at how they go above and beyond to help.

Massive thank you

Dear RushcliffeMum7,

Thank you for taking the time to post your experience of benefitting from your local Children's Centre Services working in Partnership with CAMHS to enable you and your family to have coping strategies to make family life work.

Children's Centre staff work hard to develop appropriate relationships with all the professional services on offer so we can deliver services to individual families at point of need. It sounds like Jacqui and Jill worked very efficiently together to enable your family move forward for the better. I'm so pleased for you and that you feel more confident to deal with any situations you may experience.

May I wish you all the very best and many happy family moments together.

A big Thank you to Jacqui and Jill too.

All the very best

Tina.
