I have rheumatoid arthritis and was referred to the Eddercliffe centre for physiotherapy. The therapist, Jules, came to treat me at home and noticed that I did not get out much – in fact I have been housebound for a few years. Jules arranged extra help, he and his colleague helped me down the steps leading out of the house and really made an effort to get me out. Because of this I have now started to go out and am able to use the Access bus, I’m really pleased to be able to do that.
I wanted Jules to know how much I appreciate everything he has done for me to improve my mobility and give me the confidence to go out.
The letter I received suggesting I could give you this feedback also mentions other services that are available for example help with speech, occupational physiotherapy or seeing a dietician. I would really like to see a dietician to find out more about what I should or should not eat in order to manage my condition and the side effects of medication but I don’t know how to arrange this.
I have been very well treated by the Eddercliffe centre and also have carers who come to look after me. Although I am quite well at the moment I do not want to give up the carers as the rheumatoid arthritis can flare up at any time, when it does I do need help.
My husband has also been referred to the Eddercliffe centre and Pinderfields Hospital for rehabilitation, I hope they will be able to help him just as they have helped me. They think he has had a stroke but need to investigate this.
"excellent help"
