"filthy hospital, lack of dignity to patients"

About: Royal Berkshire Hospital

appalling hospital.

It needs a complete overhaul.

The staff smoke outside at the back on the hospital premises leaving cigarette stubs.

Inside on the ground floor is ripped flooring.

Elderly care is dreadful. There is no dignity for patients and visitors are ignored or spoken to in a very condescending manner.

The A & E is appalling with patients on trolleys everywhere.

The x ray department cannot see fractures on x-rays.

Awful experiences.

We are really sorry to read about your experiences at the Royal Berkshire Hospital and any anxiety this has caused you. We strive to provide the best possible service to those who use our services. Unfortunately, this does not reflect your experience, for which we apologise. Currently our Accident and Emergency Department is exceedingly busy, resulting in delays. Whilst we appreciate this is not an ideal situation, we do ensure patients' safety by getting them reviewed by doctors as soon as possible so that time-critical treatment can be commenced when necessary. We have passed your concerns about smoking and damaged flooring to our Estates & Facilities Department. Please contact our Patient Relations Team so we can give a more detailed response to your clinical concerns regarding Elderly Care and Radiology (X-ray). Telephone 0118 322 8338 or email talktous@royalberkshire.nhs.uk
