I would endorse the Care Quality Commission’s report in as much as it highlights that Addenbrooke’s Hospital has ‘caring staff who did everything they could for patients in their care’ and that the caring at this hospital was ‘outstanding’. My mother was admitted to Ward C4 as an emergency in September 2015. The skill and compassion with which the medical staff dealt with someone who was extremely ill was impressive.
They always found time to inform the family regarding progress and management decisions. She was in the ward for over 4 weeks and at all times the care provided by the nursing and ancillary staff was of the highest standard. All the staff in elderly care are to be congratulated.

It is very good to hear that the staff were professional and kind, and found time to communicate with family members.
I have passed your comments to the staff involved, and they will be much appreciated.
The hospital was pleased to be recognised as providing outstanding care by the CQC, and we are working hard to improve on those areas identified by the CQC as needing improvement.
