About: Bognor Regis War Memorial Hospital

I wondered why there was no comments on Don Barnes ward and now I know!

I feel some of the care staff''s behaviour and actions border on abuse. [ I have an HND in Social Care).

My poor father who can be awkward since saying something has been treated with contempt.

He is being discharged today totally different to what I was told my St Richards.

I live 200 miles away and work, he is being sent home no home visit to ensure he can manage to his flat, no money ( all his money was taken from him and returned to me) luckily I returned his flat keys to him. No food in his flat I was advised by St Richards that he would be in rehab for about a month. So had not arranged any thing, and was a total surprise to receive a phone call on Monday to tell me of his return home.

He has trouble communicating, and can not walk further than 20 meters with his stick

Yet is considered fit to return to independant living.

I hope he has not to return to this hospital.

I am very sorry to read about your concerns, and am sure you will understand that we cannot respond to them online via NHS Choices.

However, I would really urge you to either: 1. Contact the ward directly and ask to speak with the ward manager to explore what might be happening with regard to your father’s care.

2. Contact our patient advice and liaison service so we can review this for you via 01273 242292 or email sc-tr.serviceexperience@nhs.net.

I hope you feel able to take one or other of these steps so we can try to resolve your concerns.
