I checked in whipps cross hospital at 23:00 on a Friday night. Having gone into labor at 20:00 the same day. I got brought up to the labor ward where I was told a midwife would see me asap. 3 hours later still waiting and getting out of bed during contractions looking for a midwife. Finally got seen I asked for pain relief and they offered me paracemtol. 5 hours later I asked for pethidine. Had the injection then after I was told they gave me Diamorphine!
Which completely stopped my labor. I was in labor for 25hours. Midwives kept taking the gas&air out my mouth. Very rude staff. Gave birth on the floor where they weighed my baby and gave me the wrong birth weight. Was brought back up to the ward to find period pads all over the bathroom floors and wee on the seats. Very dirty. Had to ask 5 times for my bed sheet to be changed .
Very bad birth experience.
Won't be going back to whipps cross anytime soon
