Our visit to Queens has been an experience I was not expecting! Quite the opposite. After contacting NHS 111, an ambulance was sent to assess my 86yr old mother, who decided that it was best she was taken to Queens. I arrived by car about half hour later (only to spend half hour driving round and round and round car park looking for parking space). By time I got to my mother in Majors she was gowned, in cubicle, blood taken and on a drip. We were never left alone for long.
Every single nurse, porter, trolley staff were extremely pleasant. We were visited by an 'elder care nurse' (I apologise if this is not their correct title), who was very very nice. The doctor who saw my mother was equally attentive and reassuring. Even on the way back to car park a porter offered to push my mother in hospital wheelchair to carpark. From beginning to end we were treated like guests in a 5 star hotel. "Queens the hospital with hospitality"
"10 out of ten!"
