"Everybody on ward B3!"

About: Salford Royal

I would just like to say on behalf of me and my mum that every single person from the receptionist to the cleaners, to the support worker and most deffinatly the nurses, that every single worker on ward B3, Salford Royal hospital were totally amazing! My nana has never had a days illness in 77 years and it brought into Salford Royal being sick, after 2 days and after a MR scan we was told my nana had a massive stroke, there was nothing they could do and she has hours of her life left. My nana sadly passed away 24 hours later, but from Sunday 4th October 2015 to Wednesday 7th October my nanas last day, every single person caring for my nana on that ward was totally amazing, I can't actually describe how amazing really. They was like angels, they treated her with the best respect and dignity which was hard as she could not express her own wishes, I have worked in care for 5 years and I have never seen care like it before, finally somewhere that was up to my standards! They changed her bed sheets in her final hours they constantly made sure she was comfy, they washed her and every time we needed help they was there straight away. They even gave us 2 bays as they couldn't get us a side room. And also there was 2 sisters (don't know there names) who washed my nana after she passed away, they was out of this world, actually they are a credit to your hospital! They need to be recognised and given an award, everybody does in fact! In the future when me and my mum are finally over our grief we will be taking this further because people like them never get recognised! To all staff on ward B3, you are totally amazing and Thankyou for making my nanas last few hours of her life the best we could ask for! My nanas name was Barbara Monks and my name is Taryn Taher, I would appreciate it if you could sit all staff down on ward B3 and tell them how amazing they all are! Thankyou to everybody, but a special Thankyou to the 2 sisters at the end, they are truly amazing people / nurses! Your all a credit to Salford Royal .. Amazing people all of you!

Hi Taryn

Thank you for telling us about your experiences. I am glad that at such a difficult time, you felt your Nanna and family were treated with such care and compassion.

If you could email our PALS team (PALS@srft.nhs.uk) with some further details, we should be able to identify the staff members in question and make sure that they receive this feedback.

Thank you
