I received fantastic care in accident and emergency. The doctor went out of their way to organise mri scan slot for me. However it went downhill from there. If you compare Kennedy ward to A&E , it operates about10% efficiency wise. Very few nurses made my stay comfortable with the exception of two, who were fantastic. Rest of the nurses need to improve their attitude and bedside manner. We are all human and not there by choice. We should be treated with respect.Too many strong headed bossy nurses and not enough workers. Elderly Patient opposite me who was bedridden (soil nappy and pads) - Every time she pressed buzzer it took them 10-15 minutes to attend. She was left in wet bed. Excuses given were short staffed (although happily busy chatting, handing over), emergency on next ward etc etc.Doctors don't excetly explain what's going on. Despite giving clear instructions/time slot from anesthetic department, nurses didn't make me ready when porter came to take me. It comes across as there is no communication/control/tendency to pass the buck / blaimimg others is speciality of NHS. No wonder it's going downhill despite government pumping the money. Because the whole attitude of shifting the blaim needs to change. If it was private company lot of them will be shown the door/sacked. I hope and pray that i don't have to use NHS in my old days or hope that it improves. I hope someone reads and implement changes as required. I am happy to be back home . But feel sorry for others who are there or will come in future.
