My son was referred to ENT for follow up after grommets were inserted in his ears by another hospital where we used to live.
The audiology test was much briefer and more basic than those we have previously received and when he wouldn't wear headphones (he's 3yrs old) the audiologist labelled him as uncooperative.
It was though they had never experienced a toddler in audiology.
The specialist registrar was dismissive of his problems, uninterested in his history and called me combatative because I expressed frustration and disappointment with their lack of concern. The specialist registrar was patronising and spoke to the nurse about me as though I was not in the room.
We will not be returning to this service.
3 of our 4 children have had grommets to treat glue ear, and previously the process has been collaborative and very supportive.
This was awful.
I would rather travel 90 minutes to our previous hospital than come back here.
I love the JR, but this was shocking.
"Awful paediatric ENT clinic"
