Dear Anonymous

I am sorry that you and your mother had a mixed experience of care from this hospital, as all our staff should aim to provide a high standard of care and an excellent patient experience. It is good to read that some of our staff did a fantastic job and I have passed on your comments to the senior nurse responsible for our Queens 1 ward so that they can share your kind words and also review the care provided at night.

There has been a hospital on this site since 1885, so there have been many changes to the buildings used over that time to reflect changes in the local population and technology. It is a fact that the number of people using the hospital continues to increase and we have just started work on the latest improvement to our buildings, the construction of a new Accident and Emergency department to replace the previous building which dates back to the 1980's.

Kind regards

Graham Richardson Deputy Manager, PALS and Complaints
