"No problems what's so ever."

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

My son has just turned one and over the last year we have been in and out of the royal for both day visits and overnight admissions on many occasions.

He was born 3 and a half weeks early and although was a good weight had a bladder issue which was diagnosed during pregnancy. He was discharged after 20 days in the neonatal unit and since then we have stayed in many of the children's wards 9, 10, 12, 14 and 28 and we have never had much of a problem. We did have a few disagreements with the consultant and their lack of understanding that we had other children but I think that was partially my fault - very stressful time with new poorly baby and all that. The staff have been wonderful and supportive and the wards have always been tidy and well kept. Right through from the moment he was born we have been kept up to date with what is happening and what we are going to do next. He still has regular check ups with his consultant and his care is ongoing. Our experience, although not one I'd never want to repeat, has been a positive one.
