The midwife that delivered my baby was amazing.
The staff on the ward after couldn't of been worse! I was left dirty with a catheter in just filling and filling. Couldn't get up to care for my baby. After it was removed and I was aloud out the bed I was blackmailed in to urinating with the promise of getting my drip removed so I could care for my newborn. I'd just given birth yet made to feel like a child. My partner was told to get out at exactly 9pm with no consideration we had only met our baby a few hours previous. After this I was left to struggle to even sit up in the Bed told 'press if you need us. After a sleepless and emotional night with the drip still in after practically urinating a small ocean I was told 'I'm telling the doctor you can't care for your baby so you won't be going home' the attitude that the midwives has is disgusting! I discharged myself the next day against wishes of the midwives, spoken to worse than a dog then told 'we don't judge" however when my father spoke to them they lapped it up. I wasn't told about the blood loss I suffered or helped/given any information at all. I'm now suffering depression and can honestly say if I hadn't had the night at DMH it wouldn't be happening.
