"Cancelled operation"

My daughter lives with us in Bridlington and today we took her all the way from Bridlington to Pinderfields for 11.30am for an operation to replace an implant, they kept her waiting thinking she would be going down for the operation late afternoon. They now have cancelled it and we have just got back to Bridlington so we have to turn around and drive all the way back to Pinderfields to bring her home. There is something wrong here as they should have known before she left home to drive all the way to Pinderfields that it could not be done especially when we were driving into the grounds at Pinderfields at 10.30am the anaesthetist rang trying to say that there was maybe a technical reason they could not do the operation. They still took her in and said that it would be done and let us drive all the way home before they said it was cancelled . Under the circumstances they should have paid for her transport back home.

She has been told now that it should be done in the next 4 weeks .
