About: Highbury Hospital Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / Mental Health Services for Older People – Inpatient

Our mother is an inpatient in Highbury a meeting was held with consultant in september where our concerns on our mother going home were overlooked, all we keep being told is she has the capacity to make her own decisions, even if she make the wrong ones !!!!

The upshot is on 14/10/15 she was discharged on a hope visit but never ever got into the home,an incident occured as she was getting out of the taxi and she is now waiting to be operated on for a fractured femur whether she will recover from that who knows.

i work for the health service myself on an Oncology ward and i have never come across some of the discharge errors like i have on Cherry Ward......

It is very unfortunate that this incident occured whilst your mother was on a period of trial leave from the ward. I can only appologise and assure you that this incident will be fully investigated. We will obviously feed back to you once the investigation has been completed. However Jason the ward manager is more than happy to meet with you at any time to discuss your concerns. We will continue to monitor your mums progress and wish her a good recovery.
