About: Chesterfield Royal Hospital

Not one member of staff introduced themselves to me. Hand washing was practically none existent and staff were seen walking through waiting room with gloves and aprons on, so much for infection control! When I was seen by the registrar the previous patients x- ray and name labels were still visible on one of the computers. So much for the Cauldicott principles.

I'm really disappointed to read your post as we've worked hard to educate our staff teams on all of these elements.

Your knowledge suggests you may work in a health or care service and this was clearly a disappointing visit for you - please be assured I will share your post with relevant leaders in the hospital.

In the meantime, should you wish to talk to someone about what you saw please do give our Assistance & Complaints team a call on 01246 512640.

I hope that your clinical needs in ED were met and that you're recovering.

Kind regards Sarah Turner-Saint, head of communications
