"87 yr old severely sighted sent home with old..."

About: Frimley Park Hospital (Frimley)

Although my mother was treated very well during her recent stay in Frimley Park hospital, I was very disappointed when she told me that she found a 'needle & screw' in her arm on the day after discharge.

She has very little sight, but her arm was itching and she found something stuck in it.

She couldn't see what it was so she tried to pull it out,

It took her a long time and she was very concerned about what it was.

She saved it for me, I still have it, and it turned out to be an old canular that was fixed well into her arm.

I do feel that as the staff knew my mother's eyesight was poor, they should have taken extra care to make sure they had performed all the tasks necessary before discharging her.

Dear Karen

Thank you for taking the time to leave yuor feedback on your mother's stay.

I am so sorry that your mother was discharged without checking everything was removed.

So that we can investigate what happened and learn from this I would be very grateful if you could contact PALS on palsfrimleypark@fhft.nhs.uk with more details or ring them on 01276 526530

Please pass on my apologies to your mother

Kind Regards
