"Great explanation and plan made for care in..."

I came through A&E via ambulance and was seen in rapid response. In 4 hours I had blood tests, a chest X-ray, ECG and my heart rate was continuously monitored (the purpose of my admission was arrhythmias, chest pain and fainting). Despite the fact it was very very busy and all the staff were under pressure, I was only left in the unknown for a very short period of time. A doctor saw me first who made a plan of care, this was carried out by the nurses. The staff were cheerful and friendly. I was then seen by a cardiologist and another Junior doctor who explained my discharge summary, provided me with copies of test results to explain my situation. The doctor also gave me advice on how to be referred to cardiology outpatients and wrote a letter to my GP. Despite being ill I found it a good experience and felt as though I was offered informed choice, treated fairly and with respect. The only thing that made me feel a bit uncomfortable was while the nurse was Putting me on the heart monitor and I was exposed, a nurse opened the curtain and came to get something. I would have preferred if the nurse had waited as I felt a bit uncomfortable that the male patient opposite would see me as I am a young female.

Other than that it was great, the staff were kind and I am pleased to know that this is my new local hospital.
