"Breast care unit"

About: University Hospital Of North Tees

I was diagnosed with breast cancer 5 weeks ago and had a mastectomy on 2nd October 2015.

The care and professional support which I have received by my Consultant and team especially the Lead Cancer Nurse have been excellent.

My husband and I been involved in my care and treatment decisions throughout this rather difficult time.

When I had surgery the care and treatment once again was excellent from all staff from my admission into the Access Lounge, theatre staff and Ward 30 I was treated with dignity and respect and fully supported throughout.

My treatment has still some way to go as I will need further treatment but given my experience to date I feel positive in moving forward and getting well.

Many thanks once again to all the most wonderful staff to whom I am most sincerely grateful

Sue judge

Dear Sue - thank you for taking the time to leave a comment on NHS Choices at what we agree must be a very difficult time for you and your family. We're pleased you felt well supported and cared for during your recent visits and your stay on ward 30. We will pass your comments on to the people who've taken care of you.
