"Mr Michael Davison"

About: Northern General Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

Some 12 years ago I had a cruciate knee ligament replacement at the Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield. The knee has since never been right and has been very painfull despite numerous visits back to GPs, physiotherapists, pain clinics and back to my original consultant. In 2006 I made an appointment to see a different consultant at The Northern General Hospital in Sheffield and he gave me yet another ortharoscophy and cleaned out the knee and said everything seemed to be ok. My moan is that I have had this knee for 52 years and I know that it is not right and I am well fed up with pain day in and day out, I also used to like to keep myself fit but I am now restricted to what I can do and as we all know keeping fit could lead to better health.

Over the years and numerous visits to both hospitals I dont seem to have made any progress and I was wondering if anyone can tell me where to go from here and whether anyhting can be done.
